Jinnah Youth Award

Mr. Habib Malik Orakzai, a dynamic young man, who has been doing dedicated social work by mobilizing young men and women from various parts of the country. He has been running NGO from last several years, which is duly registered under the name “Pakistan International Human Rights Organization” (PIHRO). He is the president of this organization, which has established more than 100 branches in various districts of Pakistan in all the four provinces, Azad Kashmir, Northern Areas and FATA, with its head office in Islamabad.
Under his leadership PIHRO rendered various valuable voluntary services to the Afghan Refugees and displaced persons during emergencies like the disastrous earthquake of 2005. The NGO has a unique feature that has not accepted any financial support from any foreign organization and is run on purely domestic and self help basis. It is because of his leadership qualities that several thousand young men and women of Pakistan instead of wasting their time have been involved in useful social work.
Mr. Habib Malik and his organization have followed the policy of friendly cooperation with the authorities and have been assisting various departments by providing information and help in resolving different problems of ordinary people. He has played a constructive role during the presidential referendum by mobilizing support amongst the young people. Even now he has played a positive role in resolving tensions and conflicts in Tribal Areas. He was also the member of Afghan-Pak Joint Peace Jirga 2007 held at Kabul, Afghanistan.
(PIHRO) contributed to creating awareness about human rights and obligations of young people. He has educated youth against drug abused and organized the young people of tribal area towards healthy activities and local Government system in tribal areas.
Government of Pakistan has recently launched awards titled Jinnah Youth Awards for the first time in the history of Pakistan for those who have been working for the betterment of youth. Ministry of Youth Affairs Govt. of Pakistan has received several nominations for First Jinnah Youth Award 2007 to be held at Youth Day 2007. Keeping in view his performance he has been awarded Jinnah Youth Award for his efforts to protect human rights and promote solutions for creation of a better, more liberal and free society in Pakistan and for mobilizing youth for constructive work
